Kaprun skiing

Kaprun, nestled in Austria’s Salzburg region, is a leading winter destination renowned for its snow-sure conditions and diverse skiing opportunities. The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, reaching elevations up to 3,029 meters, offers an extended ski season from autumn through early summer, ensuring reliable snow cover for enthusiasts.  Adjacent to the glacier, the Maiskogel area provides family-friendly slopes directly accessible from the village, making it ideal for beginners and those seeking convenient access.

The resort boasts over 60 km of ski runs, comprising 47% blue, 37% red, and 16% black pistes, all interconnected by 21 modern lifts.  Freestyle enthusiasts can enjoy world-class snowparks and Austria’s largest superpipe, while freeriders have access to marked off-piste routes near the lifts.  The recent addition of the 3K Konnection gondola now links the Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn areas, allowing skiers to transition between the village and the glacier.
