Stubai Glacier skiing

The Stubai Glacier is Austria’s largest glacier ski area, offering a diverse and snow-sure skiing experience from October to June. The terrain is domintaed by wide-open intermediate runs on high-alpine terrain, with some more challenging runs and ski routes available in good snow conditions between the lumbering ice sheets. The snow at 3200m can be exceptional well into early summer. The facilities on the glacier are supberb, from the lifts system and the ski hire to the dining.

For advanced skiers, the 10km ‘Wilde Grub’n’ ski route from the Wildspitz mountain station at 3210m to the valley station at 1750m is one of the great routes in the region. It starts on the glacier and finishes on a riverside route down to the base station carpark. Freestyle skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the Stubai Zoo, one of Austria’s largest and most varied snowparks, particularly popular in autumn and spring.
